Mock Draft Round Up

Well, the NFL combine will take place later this month and soon after, mock drafts will start springing up.  Then once all the college's pro days are complete, a more detailed set of mock drafts will arrive.  Before the combine takes place, many web sites and draft gurus take a stab at the first round.

I've rounded up as many mock drafts as I can find to tide you over until the riveting coverage of the NFL combine takes place (actually, I enjoy watching it on NFL Network, but I know most people find it boring.)  After all, as Browns fans, all we really have to look forward to is the eternal hope and promise of another off season.

* Disclaimer - while a few of these mocks come from professional NFL writers who actually engage in player evaluation, I have no idea what basis some of these web sites have to make a mock draft.  If you follow the NFL, you could probably do a better job mocking out the first round on your own.  Send me your mock draft and I'll post them if I receive enough.

Without further ado:

1.  Bleacher Report mocks out the first TWO rounds!  Take that Mel Kiper, Jr.!

2.  Draft Season.com lays out its "Ultimate Mock".

3.  Sports Illustrated - columnist Andrew Perloff gives his picks.

4.  Draft Countdown gives a slightly dated rundown, but offers more in-depth support for each pick.

5.  Draft King.com fails to live up to his name.

6.  CBS Sports.com has two writers making picks.

7.  Don Banks at Sport Illustrated gives it a go.

8. Walter Football.com does an admirable job.

9.  James Walker - the AFC North beat writer (and Cleveland resident) for ESPN reveals Mel Kiper Jr.'s mock draft picks for the AFC North teams.  Normally, Kiper's mocks are only available to insiders.  Walker also gives his own take on what each team should do.

10.  New NFL Draft.com rounds it out with a full 7 round mock draft.

**UPDATED***

11. Pro Football Talk.com just posted their first mock draft today.

12.  Don Banks at SI does his second mock this off season.

We'll also be posting a pre-combine summary of several draft prospect player rankings from talent evaluators around the web.  Stay tuned!
